Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add apple butter, egg, and vanilla; mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
- Roll dough into balls and coat with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Place on baking sheet and bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Chill the dough for thicker cookies if desired.
