Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp butter (for filling)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 23 tbsp milk or cream


Instructions

  1. Warm milk, stir in sugar and yeast, and let sit until foamy.
  2. In a mixer, combine milk mixture, eggs, butter, vanilla, then add flour and salt.
  3. Knead for 8 minutes until smooth, then cover and let rise 1 hour.
  4. Cook apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch until thick. Cool completely.
  5. Roll dough into a rectangle and spread apple filling over it.
  6. Roll up tightly and slice into 12 rolls.
  7. Place in a greased pan, cover, and rise 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until golden.
  9. Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk for glaze.
  10. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve.
