Ingredients
- 4 medium apples
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (optional)
- 2 tablespoons raisins
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease or add water to a baking dish.
- Core the apples, leaving about 1/2 inch at the base intact.
- In a bowl, mix oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, nuts, raisins, and vanilla until crumbly.
- Fill each apple with the mixture, packing gently and mounding a little on top.
- Place apples in the baking dish and add water to the bottom of the dish.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until tender.
- Cool slightly before serving warm.
