Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (for marinade)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (for marinade)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (for sauce)
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (for finishing)
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish


Instructions

  1. Marinate sliced steak in soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch for 15 minutes.
  2. Whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and water in a bowl for the sauce.
  3. Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 1–2 minutes, then drain.
  4. Heat oil in a wok. Sear beef in batches until browned, 2–3 minutes.
  5. Return all beef to the pan, add broccoli and sauce. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
