Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  3. Add diced onion and garlic to the beef and sauté until soft.
  4. Season the beef mixture with salt, pepper, and paprika. Remove from heat.
  5. Thinly slice the potatoes using a mandoline or sharp knife.
  6. Grease a 9×13 casserole dish with butter.
  7. Layer half the potato slices on the bottom, then spread half the beef mixture on top.
  8. Repeat with remaining potatoes and beef.
  9. Pour heavy cream evenly over the layers.
