Ingredients
- 1 large French bread loaf
- 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 cup provolone or mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and slice the French bread in half lengthwise.
- Hollow out the center of the bread to create space for the filling.
- Mix melted butter with garlic and parsley and brush onto the inside of the bread.
- Sauté bell peppers and onion in olive oil until softened and lightly charred.
- Add sliced steak to the pan and cook until just browned.
- Combine steak, peppers, onions, and cheese in a bowl and stir gently to melt the cheese slightly.
- Fill the hollowed bread with the mixture and top with extra cheese if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is bubbly and bread is golden.
- Let cool slightly, slice into thick pieces, and serve.
