Description
Make the best Chinese beef and broccoli at home with this easy and quick stir-fry recipe! Healthy simple and so delicious every time!
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- ¼ cup water or beef broth
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Slice the beef thinly against the grain and toss it with soy sauce and cornstarch in a bowl. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, brown sugar, water, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat with a bit of oil. Sear the beef in batches for 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Add broccoli to the same pan with a splash of water. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender.
- Return the beef to the pan. Pour in the sauce and toss everything together. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Turn off the heat, drizzle sesame oil, and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using. Serve hot.
Notes
- Slice the beef thin for tenderness.
- Don’t overcook the broccoli.
- Double the sauce for a saucier dish.
- Use low-sodium soy sauce to control salt levels.
