Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless chicken breast
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 2 green onions sliced
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Set up bowls for breading: one with beaten eggs and another with flour and cornstarch mix.
- Dip chicken in egg then coat with dry mix pressing lightly.
- Fry chicken in batches in hot oil until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- In a saucepan combine soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, garlic, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry.
- Simmer sauce until thickened and glossy.
- Add chicken to a clean skillet or wok and pour sauce over. Toss to coat evenly.
- Top with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot.
