Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter (melted, for dough)
  • 1/3 cup baking soda (for boiling)
  • 4 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water, let sit until foamy.
  2. Stir in flour, salt, and 2 tbsp melted butter. Knead until smooth.
  3. Let dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet.
  5. Divide dough, roll into ropes, and shape into pretzels or rings.
  6. Boil pretzels in baking soda water for 30 seconds each, flip halfway.
  7. Place on baking sheet and bake for 12–14 minutes until golden.
  8. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.
