Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp butter (or oil)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp chili powder or paprika
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • ½ cup heavy cream or yogurt
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional garnish)


Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until translucent. Add garlic and ginger; cook until fragrant.
  2. Add spices (garam masala, turmeric, chili powder) and salt; stir for 30 seconds.
  3. Pour in tomato puree and simmer until sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Add chicken pieces, stir to coat, cover, and cook until chicken is done (about 10 minutes).
  5. Stir in cream or yogurt and simmer for another 2 minutes. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
