Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 fresh peaches (sliced)
- For frosting: 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup heavy cream, 2–2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line three 9-inch round cake pans.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk into the wet mixture.
- Divide batter between pans and bake 22–26 minutes. Cool completely.
- For frosting, melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan until bubbly. Remove from heat, whisk in cream and vanilla, then beat in powdered sugar until smooth.
- Layer cake with frosting and sliced peaches between each layer.
- Frost top and sides and decorate with extra peach slices if desired.
