Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken breast or thighs, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp butter, divided
  • 1 cup tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add chicken pieces and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium heat and sear chicken until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add remaining butter and tomato sauce to the skillet. Cook for a few minutes.
  5. Reduce heat, stir in heavy cream, and return chicken to skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes until sauce is thick and chicken is cooked.
  6. Adjust salt if needed, garnish with cilantro, and serve.

Notes

  • Add cayenne for more heat if desired.
  • Use coconut milk instead of cream for a lighter version.
