  • 1 tbsp white vinegar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line 3 cake pans.
  2. Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, beat sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Add buttermilk and red food coloring.
  4. Add vinegar, then combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
  5. Divide batter into pans and bake for 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
  6. Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add vanilla and powdered sugar until fluffy.
