Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
- Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until dough forms.
- Combine cinnamon and sugar for coating in a small bowl.
- Roll dough into balls and coat each in cinnamon sugar.
- Place on baking sheet and bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set.
- Cool for 5 minutes on pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- Chilling dough slightly helps with less spreading.
